Great Ocean Road, Australia

John and I rose early, bundled up and spent the day cruising along the spectacular Great Ocean Road! This stretch of road runs just over 150 miles along the south-eastern coast of Australia. The road was built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932. This road is the world's largest war memorial, dedicated to lives lost in World War 1.

Rugged limestone and sandstone rock formations shoot out of the waters. We zip along coastal roads, admiring the lush fields and valleys along side the crashing waves and steep cliffs. The Great Ocean Road is home to a few specific rock formations - Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge and The Twelve Apostles. The coastal views were absolutely spectacular!!
