Hue, Vietnam

Hue is positioned centrally, very near the boarder between North and South Vietnam. This city is well known for its historic monuments. With only one afternoon to tour Hue, I walked along the river and jumped in a cyclo to tour the Citadel, a walled area on the north side of the Perfume River and former home to the Emperors.

The cyclo tour was lovely and an excellent opportunity to view life in the Citadel - quiet residential streets with kids running and playing games on the sidewalk, busy roads bustling with food and motorbikes, lush gardens and streams, the Palace and surrounding pagodas, an open-air museum of American military vehicles, and a pick-up game of football in park.
