The tubing scene is chaotic, crammed full of backpackers from all around the world looking to enjoy a good time! Ready to hit the water, I joined hundreds of other tubers along with several good friends and we floated down the river from one party to the next. We called to locals for a rope whenever we needed a tow to the riverbank for food and drink. We enjoyed the riverside activities from morning til dusk - tubers flying through the air on zip lines and trapeze swings before splashing into the water, volleyball and dancing as music pumps from the speakers, episodes of Friends and Simpsons play from tv screens in each restaurant, water slides of all shapes and sizes, crepes and fruit shakes made fresh on the side of the street, the warm sunshine and the cool water.
The best part of the tubing was the last stretch of river, long after the music and singing had faded. Beautiful limestone mountains tower over the river as locals fish from the banks and smile as you pass by.
