Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath

A day trip outside of London to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath!

We spent the morning at Windsor Castle, home to the Royal Family and the Official Residence of the Queen. Jen and I explored the castle grounds, enjoying the lush gardens, gazing at the beautiful medieval architecture of St. George's Chapel, and nearly catching a glimpse of the Queen!

As the skies cleared up and the rain slowed, we arrived at the mysterious ancient stone circle of Stonehenge. This site is one of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world. This site holds archaeological significance, possibly plays an astronomical role, and is highly spiritual. Jen and I walked around the structure, taking in the eerie and still surrounding while debating the mysterious origin of the stones.

Finally, we finished the day in the beautiful Georgian City of Bath! We toured the Roman Bath complex, a well-preserved Roman site for public bathing built around thermal springs. Jen and I learned about the historical and religious significance of the Baths and viewed the original Roman Baths that now sit below the modern street level. As the water bubbled and the smell of sulfur filled the air, it was tempting to dive right in!
