Barcelona was beautiful! Whitney and I stayed outside of town a bit, but right across the street from a metro station. Our first evening there, we wandered around the corner to a major pedestrian street and enjoyed window-shopping and hamburgers for dinner! Hardly an authentic meal, but we needed some good food. : )
This city is very large and there are so many sights to see! Most interesting to me was the work of Gaudi that littered the city - including several homes and buildings he designed as well as the famous Park Güell packed full of tiles and unique architectural structures. One of Gaudi's most interesting works is the Sagrada Família, a Roman Chruch that Gaudi first worked on in 1883. The Church will not be complete until 2026!
Spent time wandering around Las Ramblas, a major pedestrian street packed full of vendors, jewelry, street cafes, artists and pickpockets. The Gothic part of town was very neat and Whitney and I enjoyed the Olympic Park/grounds as well. Adios Barcelona, Adios Spain!
